An industrial exposure provides a lifelong learning experience and increases the practical skills of the students. Guru Nanak Institutions , Ibrahimpatanam has always strived to bridge the gap between the regular curriculum and the real time experience by providing students the opportunity to visit various industries under the guidance of the experienced faculty. This time the IV –I & M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance) students of School of Pharmacy – GNITC along with Mr. Himansu Bhusan Samal & Mr. Dhiraj Kumar teaching staff visited Suryavanshi Packaging Industries, located at Jeedimetla, Medak District of Andhra Pradesh on 15-09-2013. Suryavanshi Packaging Industries is one of the well established companies in Hyderabad. The main objective of this industry is to design, prepare & evaluate various secondary packaging materials (Corrugated Box). The Idea behind visiting a packaging industry was to make students aware about secondary packaging, different evaluation tests for packaging materials such as thickness, GSM, brusting factor, bursting strength etc. The students felt elated after visiting the facility and conveyed thanks to the management of Guru Nanak Institutions for organizing such knowledgeable industrial visits.
III-I B.Pharmacy students of Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmacy went on an industrial visit to Prathista Industries Limited, an ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certified company, located at choutuppal, Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh. Faculty members of pharmacy department Mr. Srikanth Merugu & Mrs. Sravanthi Reddy accompanied the students. Prathista industries Ltd. is one of the reputed company in Asia to produce bio fertilizers (organic fertilizers) using a wide variety of micro organisms (lacto bacillus, Asperizillus etc.). The purpose behind this industrial visit was to make students exposed to the industrial culture. This includes grasping the knowledge of large scale production, cultivation and preservation of microbes; their utilization for the production of products that benefits mankind. Students analyzed the instruments that are used in the large scale production of raw materials; products etc. Students felt very enthusiastic after this knowledgeable industrial visit and shared their feedback as follows:-
