It is established for study of quality assurance of aero space and nuclear engineering materials. Basic NDT methods, such as magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrate test, visible inspection and ultra sonic flaw detector are installed to study the various defects of metal materials. This center is separated by dep’t of automatic energy and AICTE under RPS programme.
Non-destructive evaluation is extremely diverse and multi-disciplinary, involving the fields of Applied Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Technologies of Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence. Center for Non-destructive Evaluation has been established in Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus in 2012. CNDE of GNI fosters a collaborative work and coordinates technology activities in this interdisciplinary area. CNDE provides a focus for NDE and NDT activities being pursued within interested international organizations. CNDE responds to the increasing national and international need for development, information exchange and technology transfer in this critical technology. Dr Gray R Mayer and Dr Dennis J Bouvier of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, USA visited the CNDE of GNI on 25th Sept 2013 and appreciated the execution of ongoing research projects. Dr H S Saini, Managing Director, GNI associated with the team and briefed on the progress of ongoing research projects. Dr S V Ranganayakulu, Dean (Research & Development) of GNITC welcomed the team and demonstrated the projects.
