8th International Conference

The eighth international conference on “Innovations in Electronics and Communication Engineering” (ICIECE-2019) organized by the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus, Hyderabad during August 2-3, 2019. The research contributions were from all over India and from other countries of the world. Around 450 papers were received and among them 307 papers were shortlisted by reviewers for publications. All papers had been subjected to plagiarism check and two blind reviews by reputed reviewers from all over the country. The selection of papers had been based on these reviews and the uniqueness of the content presented in the papers. More than 77 external reviewers have contributed in the conference.

All accepted papers have been published in conference proceedings and selected papers will be published in SCOPUS indexed Springer lecture notes. Extended version of papers will be published in a special issue of “International Journal of Innovations in Electronics and Communication Engineering (IJIECE)”. In addition to 450 research papers received from India, around 40 research papers were from other countries including Sweden, Italy, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman and Ethiopia etc. The Conference was funded by AICTE, CSIR and DRDO-NSTL and supported by Springer, ISRO, Red Hat Academy, Adobe Creative Cloud, ESCI, and IETE.

About 200 delegates from all over the country and abroad participated in the two days conference. The prominent persons who graced the inaugural function were:

Inaugural program of the conference was conducted at 10.00 a.m. on 2nd August 2019, followed by keynote address by prominent international and national speakers. Conference proceedings and JIECE Volume 9 Issue 1 journal were released during the inaugural function. The Chief Guest of the conference Prof. Mohd Rizal Bin Arshad from Malaysia stressed on the importance of research and innovations in the field of Robotics Technology. He also mentioned that in the coming year’s world would be moving towards Industrial revolution 4.0. Dr. Goh Kam Meng from Malaysia, stressed on the product development based research instead of limiting to publications. He also said that without engineers no innovations in the technology are possible. Dr. K. Anitha Sheela, emphasized that the number of papers published are impressive both in terms of quality and quantity.

Sardar G. S. Kohli, Vice Chairman, GNI congratulated the members of the conference for successfully organizing the event. Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director, GNI and Chair of ICIECE-2019 congratulated the department for raising the level of the conference and announced that 150 peer reviewed conference papers will be published by Springer. He also announced that the research contributions in the area of Medical electronics and IoT etc. from students should be a regular feature in future conferences. Dr. M. Ramalinga Reddy, Director, GNITC and Dr. Sreenath Reddy, Principal, GNIT was also present in the inaugural function.

The inaugural function was followed by three keynote speeches. There were five parallel tracks for presenting the papers. The papers presented were in the following tracks: Communications, Signal Processing, VLSI, Embedded Systems and Miscellaneous. Valedictory function was organized on the 2nd day of conference at 3.00 P.M. on 3nd August 2019 which was graced by following persons:
