Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2001 with an intake of 40 students , in 2002 the intake has increased to 60 students and in the year 2009 intake has increased to 120 students. The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is NBA Accredited and the institution has accreditated by NAAC and certified by ISO. The Department offers 4 years B.Tech Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The Department has a separate building state-of-art laboratories with latest equipment, advanced versions of software and demo units. The laboratories are developed in consultation with the Industry and Academic experts to provide industrial environment along with the University curriculum. The department has rich experienced and dedicated faculty with the background of Industry, Teaching and Research. The faculty is specialized in the areas of Power Electronics, Power Systems, Energy Systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems to provide excellent knowledge in the core subjects. In addition to these labs Solar Power Applications Lab & AICTE IDEA labs are established to inculcate the recent trends in electrical engineering into student’s mind. The department was funded by AICTE in the scheme of MODROBS of Rs. Six Lakhs
The Department organizes regularly Faculty Development Programmes, Seminars, Industrial visits and Expert lectures from Industry and Research Institutions to mould enthusiastic students into excellent engineers, while exposure to the latest technologies fosters the creativity and independent thinking of students.

Electrical Engineers are needed in all manufacturing units, all major companies of public and private sector such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, Power Corporations, Hydro-Electricity sector are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers for their projects. Electrical Engineers also find job prospects in Design Industries, Production plants, Natural gas plants, Petroleum as well as in steel and chemical plants. Many premier Educational and Research Institutions regularly intake electrical engineers as graduate Engineer trainees and Management Trainees to work on research projects.
Electrical Engineers can also get a job in Major players in Public Sector such as Indian Railways, Armed forces (Technical Branch) and also in Thermal and Nuclear power Corporation Limited.
Placement and Pay scale of Electrical Engineers
Electrical Engineers are required in large number for power sector and industries. They are also absorbed by software industries. Indian Government is encouraging the private sector participation in the power generation as the country needs thousands of megawatt power. Only few engineers are opting for higher studies those who are interested in teaching and research.
Fresh Graduates salaries are between Rs. 15,000/- to Rs.30, 000/- per month in the private sector and upto 40,000 in the government sector. The salaries of these core engineers increases tremendously with experience.

Dr. K. Santhi is working as a Professor & HOD - EEE at Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus, Ibrahimpatnam since November 2015. She has completed her graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Salem, Tamilnadu during 1996 – 2000. She has completed her M.E. in Applied Electronics from Anna University, Tamilnadu in the year 2007 and PhD from Anna University, Tamilnadu in the year 2015. She has published more than 20 Research and Review papers in reputed International Journals publisher such as Springer and Elsevier. She has also presented more than 20 Research papers in reputed International Conferences. She had been appointed as the convener & Coordinator for Various Faculty Development Programs, Successfully Organized an International conferences in 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. She has been the Peer reviewer for research papers and projects. She accomplishes her duties as an external examiner for M.Tech/PhD students on a regular basis. Dr K.Santhi is the reviewer for many journals Viz., SMAE, IJARSE, GRD Journals, CMSE 2017, CMSE 2016, CMSE 2015 and CMSE 2014.
